Gold calls the stories a “window into teenage life for gay people and the crisis they face every day.  It is like a slow motion nervous breakdown.”  While not everyone has that particular experience, coming out can bring up a host of mental health concerns for teens who experience fear, isolation, loneliness and a feeling that “something is wrong” as they come out.
